6/25/2005 Salt river report
Written by Crush

Man, you could walk across the boats that were anchored up the salt river. It was crazy!

I guess that's the price I pay for going out late.

We managed to scrape some bait together from Salome cove (mostly green sunfish, with a couple bluegill), and a few by the dam, but it's just too long a run now to go from there and up the river. I need to find bluegill closer to the river.

More fire at Bartlett, and Roosevelt.

Bartlett was closed and as I write this, not opened for use.  The fire was crossing the roads there.  Also, traffic was being interrupted on the Tonto end of Roosevelt on highway 188.

Basic deal here is this.  Check before you go!  Roads may be closed, and you don't want to be turned away.  You can check the Arizona forest service website, or call them.
